Why Hylauronic Acid | New Level Skincare

WHY USE A HYALURONIC ACID PRODUCT?

Hyaluronic Acid..
What it is: Hyaluronic Acid is a gooey, slippery glucosaminoside (sugar) that the body produces naturally. Hyaluronic Acid is found throughout the body in the eyes, joints, nerves, hair and skin.
What it does: Hyaluronic Acid is a main component that gives the skin its structure. Hyaluronic Acid can bind up to 1000x its weight in water. In other words, it works as a humectant attracting moisture and holding it, like a magnet, keeping the skin plump and hydrated. Unfortunately, natural hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases with age which leads to sagging and wrinkles over time.
Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid:
When used on a consistent, ongoing basis. Hyaluronic Acid is:
  • Anti aging
  • Moisturizing
  • Anti wrinkle
  • Increases skin elasticity
  • Wound healing
What to look for:
First, look for a concentration of 2% or less. Higher than 2% can ultimately dry out the skin.
Secondly, different hyaluronic have different molecular sizes/weights. Smaller molecules will absorb deeper, while larger molecules will stay on the surface forming an "occlusiveness" that helps keep in skin' s natural moisture, supporting the important moisture barrier, slowing the rate of water evaporating from the skin (TEWL). For this reason many products are formulated with multiple Hyaluronic Acid ingredients.
Hyaluronic Acid ingredients:
  • Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid
  • Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronic
  • Sodium Hyaluronic- smaller molecular weight
Who should use:
Hyaluronic Acid can come is serums, moisturizer, cleansers, toners. I personally like to use serums of important ingredients due to concentrations in other products can be less effective in some cases.
To maximize the occlusive benefit of using Hyaluronic Acid products be sure to APPLY ON DAMP SKIN. The Hyaluronic acid will then have moisture to "seal in".
Hyaluronic is safe for all skin types, even sensitive skin. Don't be afraid of the word "acid". Ladies, of course double check with your doctor, however it is considered safe for pregnant and nursing women. If you have rosacea please consult your dermatologist before using Hyaluronic Acid.
I look forward to your comments and questions.

Wishing Everyone HEALTHY SKIN!!!
